RHINO POETRY FORUM WORKSHOP
and peer exchange

Evanston Public Library
Sunday, June 24, 2012
TOPIC:   From French Poetic Inspiration to Translation.  Dr. Hahn will discuss using less common sources of influence -- such as non-English poetry and translation -- to reframe, or elaborate on, original ideas. In particular, we'll look at some French poetic concepts and devices, through a sampling of French writers.  In addition, the process of literary translation, as well as the process of translating one's own poetry, will be discussed as a means of discovering and honing poetic voice.
This project has been partially supported by grants from Poets & Writers and the Illinois Arts Council.
